The oil seals from Malossi are technically state-of-the-art and, although they have been specially developed for racing, they also offer excellent performance in normal road use. The contact area between the sealing lip and the rotating element that runs through the bore of the oil seal is the most important area and is protected for this reason: The contact between the edge of the tongue and the shaft is ensured by the spring and the walls (diaphragm and lip), which provide the necessary edge engagement between the two elements for the development of the radial force needed to obtain an optimal seal. After a short period of use, the lip edge changes and allows a thin film of liquid to form between the shaft and the lip, preventing direct contact between the two elements and favouring lubrication. This prevents the oil from leaking out and increases the service life of the sealing ring exponentially.
